AKA Songs For Unwritten Visual Novels

Hi. Yes. Hello.

I didn't really come prepared to talk about these songs. I have this habit of trying to conceptualize an album and trying to make things fit into that larger idea, but these songs all came about from a lot of those bigger ideas fizzling. Some were (honestly too large) ambitions of wanting to get soundtracks for larger narrative projects, others were small one-offs that were done in an afternoon.

There's a range of stuff here from soundtrack style songs to more dance and electronic driven things. Conversational piano, nostalgic synth yearning, some breakbeats, occasional noises. Songs about scary hallways, nightmare work shifts, random people in California who have way too many cacti outside of their house.

Going back to these to give them a final mixing and mastering pass was profoundly weird. I made a point not to add anything new, but to just sculpt what was already there.

These songs have been sitting around for a while, none of them really had a proper home. They may not be perfect, but they are finished and it feels wasteful to leave them unheard.
